We can unlike the public walk in and go to the officer concerned for information.
As for said officer he is right about the timing but with a fair wind it should be on site in 2 years time.
We need consultation and a public enquiry etc first.
Most of the funding is in place already and final design works are being worked up for a planning application in September when objection and small ammendments can be asked for

Hi guys cheers for getting back to me, with just that little bit of info you've given me councillor has helped me so much by explaining the process etc!
I do hope it goes ahead but somehow it doesn't affect my property as I know hazel grove and probably Stockport as a whole needs this but I'm not sure if it will attract more traffic and trucks cutting across to get to the m6 etc?
Anyway I'll keep you posted and gonna go down to this surgery on the sat 3rd and see if there's anything else I can find out!

I agree, terminating the road in hazel grove can only increase traffic, commuters in the surrounding areas will have to drive through hazel grove to access it, potentially grid locking areas like the fiveways.

I think it will improve the congestion. The idea of this route is to take traffic from Buxton, New Mills, Disley, Marple etc and route it around HG. The entry point is supposed to be just above Simpsons going over to Brookside then Chester Road (Woodford one) and linking to the A555.

The extra traffic may come from people living in the Grove and surrounding are heading to the entry points at High Lane or the Fiveways rather than going via Bramhall/Cheadle or Stockport for the motorway.

I always thought it was barmy not to continue the A555 at Handforth all the way to the airport given how little it was going to cost

Nice to hear from you, can I just ask you a few questions as you may have seen I will really be affected as where I live I will be right between the two rds by the looks of it on the route, I live on a row of terraced houses called red row right on Buxton rd next door to the robin hood.
With this knowledge could I ask you a huge favour and as you'll know the route could you just confirm that it the slip rd at the end going to high lane will be running right at the bottom of my garden and joining the a6 right opposite norbury hollow rd as I will have the a6 right outside the front and the new slip rd right behind my house!!
And one other question regarding simpsons bend, I remember years ago when I got the semmms map in the post it had 3 different options being either a round a bout or two different style junctions, do you know which junction the planning committee is going with as I've not had any regular updates or anything, the only letter I've had was a cheeky one asking who owns my house and how much my mortgage is etc and didn't even say why they wanted the info although I presume it could be possible compulsory purchase or compo due to the affect it's going to have on my property!!
I would really appreciate it if you could help me out as I've spoken to Somone from the council already and he wasn't very helpfull basically saying if it goes ahead then I'd hear it in the local papers and he had nothing on his computer to suggest any other letters going out to local residents!
