living at No: 2 St.Anns Road from the time I was 4 until I turned 19. I will always have a fondness for Hazel Grove and Bramhall. I am now 52 and live in upstate New York, USA in a small country town, not unlike the town where I grew up. Some day I would like to return with my wife and children for a holiday and enjoy again, a pint of 'Robbies' bitter in the Cock Hotel.

Any information on Messrs. J. Clayton and Son of Hazel Grove. I believe this was a Grocers in the early 1900's.

Many thanks.

Whats Good - Hazel Grove has a fantastic selection of top restaurants. summer palace, simply Thai, los amigos, and benvenuti's to name a few. its always nice to have a bunch of reputable restaurants at your doorstep rather than going into town!

My old friend Margaret Williamson (maiden name), she used to live on Great Moor Street, Great Moor.

We lost contact in the mid 70s after she got married, I believe her name then was Eccles.

I am told she got married again and that her name was Percival, and that she lived in the Commercial Road area.

I have also been told that Margaret used to be the manageress of several local off licences (Victoria Wine).

Whats Bad - Traffic in Hazel Grove
Is it the traffic that's bad or the traffic planning ?
The council appear to be doing everything to stop traffic ie bus stops inside traffic islands - the mess at Carpet world - what was the point about The Bull's Head changes
I could go on

Whats Good - I have just booked my holiday at the Cooperative Travel in Hazel Grove (inside ASDA) and I just wanted everyone to know how great the girls are in there - nothing is too much trouble. If you are looking for a holiday this is the place to go!
