Stockport Pyramid

Originally, there was a 20m scheme in place for five pyramids in what was to be known as 'Kings Valley', but the developers went bust and the only pyramid built at that point had to be finished quickly and cheaply which is why it isnt a full pyramid shape. Today it is owned by the co-op.

The pyrimid of Stockport was bad debt on the co-op bank it was my fathers idea to make it a call centre for the bank and yes he was a freemason and proud of it, he called it his temple to his friends with a smile. When you are a Freemason symbols and numbers mean a lot

I recall at the time of construction in the early 1990's that 3 pyramids were originally planned and the area (Trading Estate) was to be named after the surname of the builder, (hence the 'Kings Valley') also an obvious nod to Egypt. (Even though there are no pyramids in the Valley of the Kings) Originally there was a giant laser-beam fired from the top of the pyramid but this was soon banned by the local council as it interfered with the air traffic from Manchester Airport.
