As far as I remember, it's technically not a colour.

Based on light, you "see" because light reflects off objects, the "colour" you see, is what is being reflected off the object, missing colours are absorbed by the object.

White is what you see when all of the colours are going into your eye

Black is the absence of light altogether.

At least that's what I remember.
