.. everyone will be shopping at Asda Hazel Grove.. i know i will - friendly colleagues - low prices and quality products - HAZEL GROVE - ASDA IS 'YOUR' FUTURE

'Fraid not - I'll take a look again in due course to see if it improves as it goes on, but, to judge from my first visit, it's not as good as Morrison's in Poynton. So I'll keep going there for my major shop for the moment.

Well if Asda is our future, we might all be as well giving up now. In my personal experiences with this store, it's a shambles. The layout is rubbish, some (& I say some) of the staff are incompetent, the George section is absolutely rubbish and the fact that there are so many self serve checkouts which are a pain in the a*se because they constantly require "assistance" for no apparent reason. This of course is only my opinion ;).

I see that things seem to have come to a standstill again with the new entrance to ASDA. Does anyone know why?

It could be that half term is over!

I was looking at it tonight. Its a bit of a mess - the A6 roadworks can only happen during school hols.

There was an accident on the A6 Greek St junction yesterday morning after all these roadworks.

So it must be a priority to clear the roadworks.

I think it's the BT cabinet, not something you can pickup and move down the road. Probably a lot of local connections which each business will have to agree a time that is convenient for them to lose their phone/fax/broadband. Also all the residential lines that'll need re-routing for the move. Nightmare!

I wish I could begin to feel a little more optimistic about living adjacent to the ASDA store(ďThe future of Hazel GroveĒ,not in my mind)but observing the ongoing saga and the continual change in deadlines doesnít exactly lift my spirits and keep me feeling positive about this venture.

I try to remain optimistic and bear in mind that every new venture has stumbling blocks to overcome. However I am beginning to feel totally deflated with the chaos that has been created and the shambles of an operation that has resulted since, whilst ASDA or whoever is responsible makes no apologies for any of these delays or disruptions. And now to add to the list I read that our BT cables are to be moved and the power is to be cut off. I for one cannot understand why ASDA need to reroute these cables, why canít ASDA continue to utilize the existing BT cables that the Co-op used.

I also canít comprehend why ASDA was not made aware when the initial plans were drawn up that these cables might require rerouting and what a colossal problem this would create.

Iím not really sure anymore whose fault it is, or was, perhaps the council did point out to ASDA the possible problems that lay ahead and ASDA did not take heed of the advise they were given by allowing themselves more time to complete the entrance before opening, Iím not sure, but I am sure of one thing the disruption caused as a result of this fiasco has been and still is a nightmare especially to the residents living on Mount Pleasant and Green Lane.

Iím unsure why ASDA has been allowed to continue without informing the residents of these delays and disruptions.I check the councilís A6 Highways website for possible updates but I donít think this information has changed since the first day it was launched.

Perhaps if Councillor Hogg reads this thread he might be able to shed a little more light on the further delays and disruptions and ask the ASDA the question for us, why has no one has been informed when the next stages in ASDAís planned fiasco is to take place.

Imm thank you for your feedback. I'm glad to hear that others feel the same way I do and are not just happy to leave things to chance.

I too have contacted Cllr Hogg several times in the past outlining future and present concerns over the delays in completing the entrance to ASDA and asked if Cllr Hogg could supply an explanation as to why these delays are happening and being allowed to continue without no contact or thought for the local residents.

However I am also waiting for Cllr Hogg to make a comment. I wonder if Cllr Hogg has bought up any of our concerns at the Hazel Grove ward meetings or the committee meetings he attends monthly.
