Nantwich is a market town in south Cheshire, England, in the Borough and parliamentary constituency of Crewe and Nantwich. In 2001 Nantwich had a population of 12,515. Geographically, Nantwich is on the 'Cheshire Plain', on the banks of the River Weaver and close to the Llangollen and Shropshire Union Canals, just south of the latter's junction with the Trent and Mersey Canal. It is approximately four miles south-west of Crewe (it has a railway station on the line from Crewe to Whitchurch, Shrewsbury and other towns along the Welsh border), and 20 miles south-east of Chester.
