Who can be a Franchisee

Not everyone has what it takes to be a great CiviCr Local franchisee. We really want to see our franchisees succeed, so we do not let simply anyone become a CiviCr Local franchisee. We want franchisees that really deserve it.

The key characteristics that we know franchisees need to be successful.

More than anything else, franchisees have to be friendly and personable to be successful. Running a CiviCr Local franchise is about becoming the centre of your community, and championing its interests. You need to get out and speak to people, find out what is on their mind and help them find solutions. That might be by starting a new discussion on the website, or it might mean working with a customer to find the best mix of marketing support that you can offer them. In everything you do however, it means talking to people, understanding their needs and gaining their trust.

Whilst we’ll give all our franchisees a huge amount of support, what makes CiviCr Local great is that it is local. Every area will be different, with its own challenges and opportunities. We’re looking for franchisees that have the energy and creativity to overcome these challenges and make the most of the opportunities. We can give you the template for a great business, but you will need to fill in the details for your own area (with our support and guidance of course).

We want ambitious franchisees that are not content with an income of a few thousand pounds a month, but driven to build an income well into the five figures. This sort of success requires hard work and dedication, but those franchisees that really want it will get it. Our existing community publishers are proud to be part of the CiviCr Local network, and work hard to make it a fantastic business all across the country. We want to preserve that attitude and continue to make CiviCr Local the hub of local communities and the best franchise going.

Having the right attitude is vital with a CiviCr Local franchise. As with any business, things will not go right all the time, and as your own boss you need to be the one to keep yourself motivated and moving forwards. We are looking for people who can deal with rejection from time to time, cope when things go wrong and generally smile in the face of adversity. We’ll always be there to support and encourage you too.

Skills you do not need

Although running a CiviCr Local franchise involves running a community website with local content, you do not need to be a budding journalist or have extensive technical skills. Our platform is simple to use.

Writing skills

As a franchisee you will be responsible for stimulating discussion on your CiviCr Local site and writing occasional articles for it. However, you are not a journalist and do not need to produce a large amount of content.

Technical skills

Our technology platform is second to none, but that does not mean that you need to be a computer whizz to work it. On the contrary, our system is extremely easy to use, and if you are happy surfing the internet and using a basic word processing package you will find running your own CiviCr Local site no problem at all.

Running a CiviCr Local franchise is not for everyone, but if you think that you have the qualities described above then it can be both personally satisfying and financially rewarding. We have an extremely talented and driven group of people running the sites at the moment and we are always on the lookout for new members of our CiviCr Local family.
