Has anyone had the misfortune of dealing with Stockport Direct recently?

I tried to get through last week, and was told the queue was 15 mins, longer than my work break. I put an email in 7 days ago, and nothing.

That's pretty shoddy.

sounds like normal stockport council practice!
cant blame em though, all the needed staff who was working there got laid as part of the cutbacks and mess up's the councils had of late so we got big fat cats who cant run things properly on big money wages and the much needed staff are scarce and working flat out.

Wouldn't it be great to sack 1/3 of the Councillors and invest in real people that we all need. The trouble is this is Turkeys voting for Christmas.

As someone who has recently been made redundant from SMBC, I can confirm I was not laid, but truly shafted.

haha loving that!
sorry you got laid off or shafted, i believe theres many ex council workers who wasnt happy with the way things turned out with theyre job etc and from what ive heard the staff that was kept on are working twice as hard to make up for the lack of staff and many thought big bosses should have gone instead of frontline staff?

That how it is, top heavy with management and staff now to frightened to complain re heavy work loads.
I was always vocal, challenging senior management on many occasions. My ball must have been heated up when it came out of the bag! No pun intended.
Happily, I am now back in work after a four week holiday, I work term time only and collect more dosh at the end of the month. I suppose I should be grateful....................
