Stockport Council discussing about Payday Loans
12th September 2013 at 8:25PM
Today I was listening to the Stockport Council Meeting on Live Webcast ( http://www.stockport.public-i.tv/core/portal/webcast_interactive/112741# ). They were discussing various motions and once of them on the impact of PAY DAY LENDERS in Stockport.

I like Cllr Philip Harding talk about the payday shops in Stockport Town Centre, which is completely true. I hate going to Stockport Town Center nowadays because I can see more pay day loan shops ( around 9) and less shopping..

What do you guys think about Pay day loans, should not be banned?

Payday loans are lethal. NEVER resort to this type of money lending. Don't do it. My tip in life is to live within your means, even if its below the breadline. I was there many years ago, with a visa credit card, with my husband and 4 children. It took us 10 years to pay it off and it was only £500, We survived. Life was a real struggle, but you can do it, even if you have to live on beans on toast, or just toast. We learnt our lesson, and NEVER owed money after that. The annoying thing was that we both worked!!!

If people are stupid enough to do pay day loans then they deserve everything they get.   There is a reason the APR is so high, the chances of it being repaid are very slim.

They are a business dealing with a niche market of wreckless muppets, fair plays to them.

I'm surprised you haven't got a chain of them already with your monopoly money?

I've already got Park Lane and Mayfair chief, I just need to get some hotels on them now. You stick with Old Kent Road, trying to survive by fetching £200 for passing go and doing your best to stay out of prison... rotfl
