This was a sad horrible murder and as you say somebody is out there. I know this lady frequented the buck and dog on Rubio to way which is no longer there. I do think there will be people on Edgeley especially the Puneapple who will know Sheila and remember the time. There were also homeless people at that time I think one of them michael smith. Hope this helps

Hello Bernadette I never knew you mum personally. My husband like to go in the buck and dog, I hated it in there but your mum was in there with the drunks of Stockport. She did hang around with some of the local characters that used to steal booze. Her association with the types of people at the time I saw her was lowlife.

Hi Cabperfect007, Thank you for your reply, yes my mum did hang around with as you stated lowlifes, but my mum wasn't a lowlife, she had a sad life which we her children witnessed, and the person who murdered my mum does not deserve to get away with what and how he killed her, All i am looking for is the animal to be brought to justice, i and my family have lived with this torture since 17/6/1988, my mum was only 49 when this happened to her, i am on this site in the hope that something may come to light, thank you once again for your reply, Regards Bernie..

I have come across your post in a strange way. I work at a university and was looking at the deaths on waterways over the Christmas period (The Pusher) following the spate in Manchester, Bristol was having issues last year with increased numbers and since publicity the number in Bristol has declined again, so anyhow I was tracking this when Trevor hardy popped up "The Manchester Beast" "The forgotten serial killer" and recognised his face. Being a researcher I was intrigued as to why I would recognise this evil man?? So checking the Law information available briefly led me to finding out this man lived with his partner in Stockport. I was raised on Bridge Hall and have brief memories of this man (not good ones) and of adult conversations that took place around me as a child that now when considering what was said from an adult perspective are interesting. The research has led me to the Sheila Farrow murder in 1988, and the mysterious circumstances and how this remains unsolved, which is a travesty. I understand that Sheila Farrow who was murdered in Stockport is not the same person as Shelagh Farrow the partner of Trevor Hardy. The law files on Shelagh Farrow are still closed until 2035, but shows that following the trial, two of the victims parents requested the prosecution of Shelagh Farrow, but this was not taken forward (possibly due to a plea deal and the prosecution seeing her as a victim of Trevor Hardy also). We now know much more about the impact of domestic violence.
I am really interested in possibly doing some further research into the murder, through archives and using my local connections and police and academic connections to see what develops. Someone has to know something (some titbit) they were unwilling to share at the time due to loyalties or missed information. 20 years have passed so maybe now it isn't so fresh people will be more open to discussing what they knew, and some answers can be found.

Hi Tinkitrace, it would be extremely interesting if you could come up with something, my mum was murdered in 1988 and when you try to look it up anywhere it's like it never happened, my mum was killed the same day as the pregnant lady Marie Wilkes was murdered, i have contacted the police but to no avail, there are a lot of unanswered questions about my mums case and would gladly work with you with regards to this, we also lived on Bridgehall Estate, Regards Bernie
