Serious accident involving cyclist causes delays
A collision between a car and a cyclist has left a 17 year old boy critically injured. The incident took place on Newbridge Lane, Stockport near the junction with St Mary's Way just before 6:00am. The cyclist was taken to Salford Royal hospital with life threatening head injuries.

It has lead to numerous road closures around Stockport town centre, causing delays through-out the Stockport area.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or people who may have information about what happened, to come forward. Police Constable Paul Hailwood from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:"We are asking anyone who was in the area at around 5.30 to 6am this morning who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
"Alternatively if you saw the cyclist or the red Renault Megane prior to the collision we would also be interested to hear from you."

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 4741.
