The BBC has reported that the proportion of new businesses in Stockport has increased more than anywhere else in the North West.
Bit of good news for the borough.

Well I'd focus on entrepreneurs particularly young start ups - encouraging them to grow their businesses in Stockport. Moreover though we need to ensure our schools and colleges are delivering an education that is worth something.

But I'm a Hazel Grove man and want to put my area first before I even think of tackling the problems of the borough.
