Ps anyone going to the high lane meeting on the 5th April?

No, no-one! Try the following week and save yourself a wasted journey.

Helen, can you check the date, please? I think you've given the original date by mistake.

Can the cllrs tell me where I can access the traffic modelling data for the new relief road. I am sure there was traffic modelling done for the complete SEMMMS project including Bredbury and Stepping hill links, but has there been any done for just the section being built.

I am still not convinced that the relief road will reduce traffic in HG so would be very interested in seeing the evidence for myself before the public consultation.

I assume lots of cash has been spent with a traffic modelling company who produce various animated simulations, are these simulations and supporting data available publicly.

Thanks

I have emailed the lead officer about this today and hope to have a response and further information as soon as possible. I will let you have it when I get it.

Any update on this? Even to tell us that no new traffic modelling has been done. Thanks

Hi Everyone,

We now have an official group opposed to the 'Link rd' called PAULA. If you would like to be kept in touch contact Steve Houston hsphouston@gmail.com it was a really good first meeting and this thing is far from a 'done deal'.

For what reason are you opposed to the road?

I certainly don't think it's the magic fix we are being told it is for HG, but i certainly don't think it can make things much worse!

To me it's just a 'half a job'!

Or am i missing something?

Everyone has been misled over this road. It won't bypass anything and it certainly won't relieve the traffic from the A6 in Hazel Grove. If it ran to the M60 as originally proposed it would be useful.

However, what is planned is simply a shortcut from High Lane to the airport....is that really worth us spending 700 million on. I'm sure we could find a better use of the money and not destroy the natural countryside we have. Have you seen the plans for the flyover at Chester rd???? WOW!!! how bad is that.

There will NEVER be enough money to complete this 'white elephant' so why start it?

The polititians have been using this road to gain votes and if you voted for Councillor Hogg yesterday on the basis of his 'road victory' I think you need to ask some questions now.
