Relief Road - Phase 2 Traffic Plan

Relief Road - Phase 2 Traffic Plan

I found some of the figures on the Phase 1 consultation traffic plan a little confusing, I now find the Phase 2 traffic plan even more confusing.

It seems that between the phase 1 and phase 2 consultations that some of the predicted 2017 figures have radically changed even though the layout is pretty much exactly the same as the original plan excluding Woodford road where option2 is the preferred junction.

Phase 1 –Traffic Plan
Phase 2 – Traffic Plan

Predicted figures with the relief road – 2017

Location                         Phase1     Phase2     % Change
Macclesfield Rd, HG        17700     20100        14
Jacksons Ln, HG              13900     14900          7
London Rd, HG                 31400     31100        -1
Stepping Hill                      32100     31400        -2
Buxton Rd, High Lane       30500     32600          7
London Rd N, Poynton      11600     16300        41
Chester Rd, Poynton           8100     13500        67
London Rd S, Poynton       15700     19300       23
Disley                                  19400     25600       32

Can the figures have changed so radically in a few months? Or were the originally forecasts totally out of date?

Seems that the figures have drastically reduced around Queensgate Primary School where there was a potential air quality issue.

As for Disley, the 2009 base year figures now seem to have increased by 39% from 13500 to 18700, maybe they went back in time.

Who knows where they're getting or making them up from but 87% of surveys are wrong and that's 69% fact which is 100% bullsh*t!

Possibility of shutting down priceless hospitals or a building senseless new roads. No competition for me..... I wish the powers to be could see the commonsense solution on this one. I for one would sooner keep our local A&E open than to see good money follow bad ideas.
