I think this might have been discussed earlier in the thread but thought it might be nice to add some numbers to things. After the first consultation I requested a breakdown of the responses to junction 6 by distance.

There was the 40/25 split in favour of Option 1, with a further 34% having no preference or response.

Within 500m of the junction there was a 58/21 split in favour of Option 2, with 20% no preference/response. 23.7% of properties in the area responded (178/752).

Within 1000m of the junction there was a 51/31 split in favour of Option 2, with a 18% no preference/response. 18.8% of properties in the area responded (481/2555).

The quotes attributed to Councillor Hogg were that the concerned residents were a "small splinter group" who had "made a lot of noise". Now in fairness, the 1km distance does cover roughly half of the Hazel Grove ward so perhaps in the rest of Hazel Grove there's a big preference for Option 1.
