Hi Goggins

There is protected woodland at the back of old mill lane

I have seen the plans

The road will skirt the edge of it

Ian's thread seemed to intimate that the road will have to be re routed in view of the government' s promise to protect it.
There may be other protected woodland along the route but others will have to qualify

Best regards

I've only just managed to catch up with the feedback I'd received from my pro road vote.

I live on the racecourse estate and I'm fed up of the traffic. It takes me forever to get to a motorway. We'd love a Link to the airport/m56. Btw I've seen the traffic modelling for Torkington Road.

What are the timescales for this new road?

Another consulation forum meeting   in the spring

Not gone to planning permission yet

The bypass will not help traffic running passed the racecourse estate my friend

They really need to build the whole thing through bredbury - according to my local MP - this will not happen for 10 years

Until then its   " The road to nowhere "

So am i to take it that if it were the complete road through to Bredbury ("They really need to build the whole thing through bredbury") you would be in support?

Don't you think that there is a chance once they build this part that the other may happen? where as without this part there is virtually non!

Don't worry i don't expect an answer, well..... not a straight one anyway!

hello how are you

It would make more sense if the whole road was built

But the point is they dont have the money

My MP has told me the whole route will be built after 10 years

I asked him last week

Well that is fantastic news! 10 years is not a long time when your talking about building roads!

I don't believe the 'half job' road as you put it is bad for the area, and if it gets the rest of it done in the long term then it's vital!

ok   - we agree to compromise on our position

I suppose it all depends as well where we live and how it will effect us and go about our daily lives - commuting, shopping etc etc

have a good day

It may depend on where you live but let's be honest, if you were renting you wouldn't care less would you?

So it's actually about where you bought. Which begs the question, if it was going to have such an impact on your life, why did you ignore the searches?
