Airport relief road signs cost?

Does anyone on here now roughly how much these signs planted all round Stockport cost, can't help but think they could have spent the money in better areas sorting some potholes in the roads or on schools, care homes etc?

Would you prefer that there was no consultation and that people were not informed that there were plans for a road to be extended?

There is one thing about a lot of your posts that confuses me!

You mention over and over that the taxpayer will have to pay for this and that (the road mainly), but when have new roads ever NOT been paid for by taxes? Virtually every penny the government spends on anything is money raised form taxes, so really out taxes pay for virtually everything in the public realm.

So i suppose the real question is how is the question/statement over taxes funding the road even remotely relevant let alone valid as an argument against it?

I don't see how it could affect the answer to my question, but yes i do pay council tax (amongst other taxes).

And as for the earn back scheme, i don't profess to know it well, but from what i have read it seems fine to me!

1. if you pay council tax , the council take the money out of the council tax to pay for the road signs

2. The earback scheme ( presently adopted in europe ) will be adopted if the bypass is sucessfull . Money is loaned   and paid back via the taxpayer - this will take many years

conclusion is you and I as the TAXPAYER foot the bill
