In May of this year PAULA ( Poynton Against Unnecessary Link Roads) will be organising a walk along part of the route of the planned Woodford Garden Village and Airport City road (A555 "relief"). PAULA would relish the opportunity of local councillors joining us on the walk. Strolling through protected ancient woodland, admiring the sandstone gorge carved out over thousands of years, marvelling at the incredibly beautiful sight of thousands of precious native English bluebells, breathing in the clean air and admiring Gods creation all around us.
Fast forward a few years.
Carr Wood as good as wiped off the map. Tarmac and concrete carving through the woods. Toxic gasses belching from thousands of vehicles.
Grazing cattle in neighbouring fields removed and placed in intensive farms. Sandstone replaced by concrete to drain local fields.
This isn't a vision of Armageddon....
this is SMBC's idea of an "overwhelming economic benefit".

Oh am sure it's a done deal the public consultation is just BS they don't give a damn what the locals think it's just about what's good for the airport and some PR for the council and goverment.
