Pantonic All Stars Steel Orchestra are a Stockport based group of talented young people, dedicated to playing steel music. We were formed in 1985 and now usually comprise up to 25 girls and boys aged between 12 and 23. The group has gained recognition as one of the Country's leading youth Steel Orchestras.

The style of music is deliberately varied to re-create the traditional sound of the Caribbean, whilst demonstrating the wide versatility of steel pans. Easy listening and modern tunes are mixed with a selection of calypsos and some of the well known classics.

The Orchestra has performed in Europe on many occasions, most recently in Belgium in August 2017, toured Barbados in 1998 and regularly appears at Caribbean evenings, shows, carnivals and shopping centres throughout the Country. They also help to raise money for the 'Bone Marrow Trust Fund' at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. The total raised to date is in excess of £53,000

The Orchestra operates a junior section recruiting young people from all over Stockport and nearby localities, from the age of 10/11. Experience of playing steel pan isn’t needed as we start from scratch. All instruments are provided so the only cost is tuition fees of £4.00 which is payable each week to cover our tutor’s cost. These don’t start for the initial four weeks, whilst a child settles and both us and them are happy to continue. The Orchestra is run by parents of players and ex-players, and all organisers are DBS/CRB checked.

The junior sessions are held in the Sixth Form Block, Hazel Grove High School, Jacksons Lane, Hazel Grove SK7 5JX on Monday evenings, starting at 7.00pm until around 8.30pm.
