We saw people setting out from the Scout hut on a walk last Saturday. What was happening and can anyone join in?

Have you ever fancied doing it though Blue? I've thought about it but can't quite muster the motivation to train for it! Don't mind hiking but 50 odd miles just seems soooooo HUGE!

Great idea, oops, just remembered that I am washing my hair that day!
My friends that have attempted the walk (one success , two failures)have said that it's a killer if the weather is poor and that you need the correct equipment and a high level of fitness. I fail on both I am happy to say!

See, DrGill, nobody in HG was daft enough to attempt the walk!
56 miles does not sound too bad if you can have;
1. Flat ground
2. Good weather
3. An excellent bus service!
4. Good life insurance.
5. And time on your hands, Mrs BlueGrover could not possibly give me the time off!

Blue, you're just whimping out - bet your Missus would be delighted if you decided to go for it next year. All those training sessions, when she could get you out from under her feet...and there's sooooo many pubs you would HAVE to stop at whilst you were out training as well - you're missing a trick here Matey!

Are you up for it DrGill? (The Bullock Smithy that is <blushing emoticon here>.)

I would blush if I were you.......DrGill may be female!!

I stand by my previous statements!

In years gone by I completed four, yes four marathons, three Stockport and one Piccadilly. Sadly old age(can't stop old father time) and poverty (wife and two kids)have kicked in.

Don't let me put you off from entering though,you almost make it sound like fun!
