Anyone had any letters from them asking to act on your behalf for compensation when the airport relief rd goes ahead?
I keep getting letters from them asking to represent me and I do need to get the ball rolling before this rd starts to be built so I have a prevalue of my home before and after it's opened?
They've been drilling the fields behind my house for the last two weeks checking what's beneath!

Personally I would walk in and speak to a local solicitor who will know just a little more about what is going on rather than a firm from Huddersfield. I have used O'Neil Patient in the past and received some useful free advise which has allowed me to make a rational decision.

It will be interesting how all this plays out. For example, for somebody who has owned the property for donkeys years may well get more money that a recent purchase where potential development may well have been factored in to the buying price.

Personally I'd love to hear from our Councillors on what, if anything, has been planned so far ...

Cheers vulcanman, I think they actually did all my paperwork when I moved into it about 8-9 years ago and they was pretty good too with no problems but just wondered if this is more of a specialist thing or just any old solicitor will know all about these things?
I need to get the ball rolling as it's 99 if not 100% going to through I reckon especially if you listen to stunnels latest spam mail that they're posting through our doors but then again they do state that labour can't win in this area, how do they actually know that? Is it lies or are they telling the truth?
As regards the rule of compensation I believe basically you had to be bought and be living in the house when it was approved or opened or something like that and you have 6 years to make a claim but if you bought the home after the permission or road was built then your entitled to nothing as I expect they presume you'd have bought it at the correct market price?

See http://assets.highways.gov.uk/our-road-network/land-property-and-compensation/part-1-claims/Part_1_Compensation_Act_10_01_13_for_web.pdf for an official Government booklet about all this ... time is on your hands.
