Constituency boundary change means Poynton gets lumped in with HG, Marple, Offerton and Romily.

See here:- http://www.placenorthwest.co.uk/news/archive/9995-boundary-commission-proposes-seven-less-seats-in-nw.html

Dunno quite what this will mean for Stunell but Poynton are pretty much Conservatives through and through, so he might be in for a wee shock come next election!

Poyntonians are not gonna be happy either - they fought long and hard to get out of Stockport and align themselves with Chesh-hire!

these boundary changes seem to be in favour of the conservatives i think the dim libs and labour party's will lose more seats than the cons. are the boundary changes to improve parliament or to keep the cons in power.

The reduction of MP's was part of the deal struck with the Lib Dems when the coalition first got together. The Cons agreed to a referendum on the AV voting system - it bombed. The other part of the deal was a change in boundaries to make all constituencies roughly equal in terms of the number of voters in each.

The point of the exercise (we are told) is that reducing the number of MP's by 50 will save over 12 million per year. By making each constituency roughly equal in terms of number of voters should, in theory, make general elections fairer.

More tea Coleman? <breaks out the fine bone china!>

On the other hand, perhaps Poyntoners will start appearing on the Jeremy Kyle show.
