Hi Vulcanman, he may be thinking that but he stated it like its a given, trust me we didn't buy the house lower than market value, these houses even though on a6 but surrounded by field sell very quickly even with the relief rd being built, maybe other people are buying them now knowing hey will possibly get compensation as you have to be living in the property a year before it opens or something along those lines!!
Anyway going off the subject, this really isn't about me guys this is about norbury crossingčĹŹ

I suspect what Norma was suggesting is that the new road was likely already to be factored into the house purchase price by the market ... i.e. what people were willing to pay as opposed to what the seller really wanted to sell at. This happens all the time and there is every chance you didn't know it at the time.

Yep, exactly what I was getting at!

If after I've tried to claim compensation not just for the impact of the rd and the traffic it will attract when open but also the impact of all the building work and noise in having to put up with now and the house has gone up in value and they said no then I'd be happy with that but as like anyone else in this world I'm no different, I guarantee you'd do the same so don't try and judge me.

I can guarantee I wouldn't because I'm too tight to pay for searches only to ignore them and I don't believe in it.

Like with the bank charges reclaiming. I didn't bother because when I sat down and thought about it, I knew full well what I was doing every time I went overdrawn. I knew full well what would happen and how much it'd cost me but I was, at the time, still financially wreckless enough to do it anyway. Why should a bank pay for my failings when I've used their money without prior agreement?

Now every bugger is doing it for PPI and paying for 'specialist' accounts!?!

Yep I never bothered with the bank charges or never have with anything else for that matter and the searches at the time came back that the link rd had been fully cancelled by the gov then years later came back as a reshuffled airport link rd that won't be much good for our area but that's another long winded debate!!
I work hard for my money,I pay my taxes and if something affects my way of life in a negative manner like my property going down in value when I didn't buy it at a discounted price and no reason to at the time I'd want some sort of compensation!
The problem with this country is people not working and expected everything for nothing but again that's another debate and I don't want to keep going on guys, we're really sidetracking from the original post about norbury crossing and open or shut that doesn't affect me personally in any way apart from cutting through the back of Poynton like the many other people who does this!!
