Are you serious 'guest'? Their not allowed to advertise the carnival? That is ridiculous, I can't wait to see the the look on peoples faces when they get in their cars and are stopped dead in their tracks by a parade.

i know it's a shame but they havent been allowed to advertise for about 2-3yrs now.the fine is about 2500 if put on street lights or council property, they can only put posters on private property now like shops or pubs.

I can understand why their not allowed to put posters on the railings and lamp posts, but in reality its a good thing. It allows people to be aware of the carnival, it lets non-local drivers be informed of a potential inconvenience, and it's completely different to a "make money working from home" signs that normally get put on lamp posts.

I personally think it's in the public interest to have the signs on the railings, and they should be exempt from any fines.

what about advertising the carnival in public places like the library or civic hall notice board, or local supermarkets. if they dont advertise it will die !!! and that will be very sad. come on all you carnival organisers dont let this happen ....

believe it or not we do try our hardest to advertise the carnival, but there is only so much tht a team of around 10 adults can do. We do so many things to advertise, posters go up in clubs, pubs, hairdressers etc, and we do many a sponsored activity.

If any of you believe you have any ideas for fundraising or advertising then please meet the commitee in the White Hart Pub on the 27th June at half 8 as all opinions and critisism is welcomed!!!
