Can you post the link?

And yet Mozza all these issues with NHS waiting times are happening despite the Tories being the only party who pledged to ring fence NHS spending and our commitment to meet the £8 billion funding gap.

Search on the BBC website for cancer and ambulance waiting times..my stupid phone keeps taking me to the app.😠

Oliver, I'm hearing lots of figures from the Tories.
I'm seeing junior doctors going on strike.
I'm seeing teachers fed up with arbitrary changes.
I'm seeing cheif inspectors of police forces saying they cannot operate their forces.
30% decreased in council budgets.
Community care schemes stopped being funded and forced into the NHS.
Nurses pissed off with their workload.
Council leaders...conservative council leaders..telling Cameron he's taken too much money out.
Sneering and joking from Tories in parliament at people asking about requests from children's charities.
Massive foodbank increase in use.
Massive gap between rich and poor.

Tell me your figures over and over again..but the people on the front line report the above..they're the experts.

For once we agree. Enough is enough! Take your colour blindness, band wagon jumping, false promises, and plain lies somewhere else.

Every minute you guys are arguing is letting Oliver and his lot wreck the place, and able to ignore posts such as mine above. They're loving it.
It's time for the people who care, the middle ground, the centre left and middle left, to try to get some care of people going.
If you want to argue, lets try to get rid of this guffawing Tory lot who frankly don't care a bit.

Sorry Oliver but whatever stats you are using, really don't marry up with what people can see before their very eyes, what people are experiencing everyday. So many points have been made on this thread about zero hour contracts and other mitigating factors that have affects on the figures, that give false impressions about stability etc.

I will throw another scenario in, this happened to a friend of mine, I assume it isn't isolated. Two years away from retirement she found herself unemployed (having worked all her life). She was pushed on to the Workfare scheme (I know you call it something else but that's what it is). She had struggled to find work being so close to retirement. She was made to go and work for a couple of weeks at Tesco, but not the local one in Stockport, she had to get two buses over to near Middleton, at her expense, out of he jobseekers allowance. She didn't get paid for this two weeks work, she was out of pocket. While there she was shunned by the other staff as they had had their hours reduced while people like my friend worked for nothing. How can this be right, how can this be the basis of a re-employ policy, how can Tescos be allowed to do this, profiteering out of such a scheme. They aren't alone, Greggs the Bakers also benefit from this, I have boycotted both which is a shame as I am partial to a Greggs pastie.

The staff who had their hours reduced, earn less and therefore pay less tax and claim more Working tax credits. So there is only one beneficiary from the scheme, the business owner.

During this time of workfare, I assume my friend slips off the unemployed figures for a short time, this glossing over the true picture.

Oliver, despite being in very opposite corners politically, I respect your handling of things on this site in general and I respect the work you do with various community focused groups in the village etc. However when it comes to the bigger picture I really think you need to take a step back and take in what's really happening, speak to people and get their thoughts on where the country is at, listen to the disillusionment that is endemic across the nation. I really don't think the people of this country have ever been as divided, as mistrusting, as cynical, as just down right bitter as they are now. As a nation have we ever been so unstable as we are now, this government is flying by the seat of its pants, it is rudderless, we are one bad week in the casino (sorry the stock exchange) from meltdown.

So lets not talk too much about "stats and figures" lets look what is happening before our very eyes. I base me views on what I see not what some piece of paper tells

Brilliant post. Those are just a few reasons the Conservatives got away with it last time..manipulating the figures.

They fundamentally beleiev this cutting and chopping is doing good. It's not, its affecting actual lives now.

The country has been as divided. I had the nightmare of growing up and being schooled in the 80s and early 90s..Thatcher had been waving her darkness over us for years. I say this not as a working class kid, but from a family who made decent money.
My school was a nightmare, a leaking horrible mess, the hospitals were frankly nasty, and the public services were knackere, and working families were struggling. A lot of people now don't know what that was like, but let me tell you,it wasn't a nice situation.

We now need to try harder at looking after people, these lot are going to put us on our knees.

Mozz, we are of a similar age, I left school in 84. I saw the Thatcher years, I witnessed my own father on the picket lines as he was a printer, I hold the Thatcher years as an example of all that is wrong with society, the greed mentality, the "look after number one" mentality the exclusive not inclusive society, that has spread like a disease through this nation. I took all that into account when I made my comment about us being more divided than ever, that just shows how despicable I find this current administration.

Many of Thatchers lies and the lies of her cronies are regularly being exposed now due to the 30 year rule, God knows what will come out in 30 years time when this lot are exposed

The big difference this time is apathy. When Thatcher imposed certain policies on us, the country stood up and fought back, they may not have won but they stood there together with pride, they stood against the vileness she spread. A generation on and the country are that disillusioned that they just accept what they deem the inevitable. The attitudes of "they are all as bad as each other" or "what difference will I make" allow this administration to do or say whatever they like, it will be forgotten tomorrow.

In the words of a certain lyricist

"apathy is happy now, it won without a fight"
