Black Cat cafe at the Rising Sun was called Grundy's before that. Used to cycle up to torky Park, lark around on rope swing across the river (stream?) and then buy a cream cake from Grundy's.

From what I've seen on the odd recent visit, you would take your life in your hands cycling from Dialstone Lane to the Rising Sun frown

Grundy's must have been before my time, but I remember Baxter & Grant Bakery next door to it.

There was a sweet shop on Grundy Street and the TSB used to be on the corner with London Road.

Stockport Motor House was where American Golf is now.

If my memory serves me well, the building where American Golf now is used to be a builders merchants in 50's 60's, called Goslings. Can anyone remember?
