Erm because unfortunatley some children have long term illnesses that can affect attendence at school due to being ILL.....why should they be penalized from doing the fun trips that others get to do just because they've had 100% attendence???????? Education just isnt about been sat all day in a classroom its about being able to do other "Extra curricular activities" that encourage the child to blossom in a subject, and a child should feel happy coming to school and not worried about being off ill as "Oh god heaven forbid it will look bad on paper" Like Ive said before they are "OUR CHILDREN" not robots....Maybe Norma u should speak to alot of the parents I also knw who have complained about stuff and maybe you would actually understand, or maybe u would just be happy to be dictated to and be her lapdog...Like Ive said just look at what a good education consists of and then ask around about how many teachers have had to leave there? Some due to because they were teaching wrong, not qualified, off ill (which kids get moaned at about) Turning up late 2 days running for your class? And I can give plenty more examples. You could have a child in school every single day of their lives doesnt mean they are getting the BEST education and doing well at school

So what is this 'illness' that stops them from attending school then? The same illness that wouldn't stop them from doing the 'fun stuff'? I am all ears.

As it happens, you are picking this argument with the wrong person as my former partner was an EWO, an Education Welfare Officer, and whilst you paint one side of a picture, they will paint another that is based around poor parenting.

It is evident from your posts that your child had a poor attendance and was restricted from taking part in other activities as a result.

Here is an honest assessment. If you want your child to be involved in group activities, make them part of the group by sending them to school and stop trying to blame someone else for your own failings. If you want your kid to sit off school do not be surprised when they amount to nothing in life, that is why they call it 'education'.

There are VERY few exceptions to the above and if it was a genuine case, severe disability etc, then they would be in a specialist school...

HOW TOTALLY AND UTTERLY DISGUSTING YOUR COMMENTS ARE....How dare u question the "Illness" of my child and why they cant be in school, and say its MY failings as a parent....You obviously lead a very sad life to just come on here and bad mouth people and wind them up...You disgust me and Im glad Ive never seen you face to face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if your partenr makes the same "comments and assumptions" as you then they should never of been in that job. And to be saying children should be at a specialised school???? Have you not ever heard of "Inclusion" some illnesses dont make then "disabled" you know...

Exactly. Hence my question which you are avoiding.

So what is this illness that keeps them away from an education that people like myself pay tax towards? I want a return on my money, I do not want it to be frittered away by people who cannot be bothered to send their children to school.

So, what is this illness? If you were so bothered about inclusion (I almost included that in my previous post) then why are you so against it now?

I can assure you that people with a GENUINE reason for being off would not be excluded.

What is this 'illness' that you are keeping a child out of school for but isn't so severe that you are bitter because they are not allowed to take part in external activities?

It's a simple question.

You don't. I think it would be prudent though when you are trying to paint the picture of a victim. There are 2 sides to every story but when one party is evasive about facts you have to question why?

If you actually read properly Ive never stated it was MY CHILD who was off school...I just mentioned about the "Attendance" etc.....so I still do not have to justify and tell YOU about my child....And I DO send her to school as I AM BOTHERED....but I am no longer bothered in sending her to "That particualr" school because of its failings in my childs well-being....So please stop JUDGING me as a parent and JUDGING my child.........

Im being evasive TO YOU....Because YOU and every other tom-dick-and -harry on here doesnt need to know actual facts about my child until Ive gone down the procedure road I am going down...So Good-night...as my side of the story has swayed the education board, local councillor etc to take my side...So I neednt say any more to you.

So what illness is this 'random' child suffering from?

Come on, I want to know. It must be an odd illness as in your own words it keeps them off school but it wouldn't stop them from taking part in other non-school activities? Hence your anger on this thread.

It's a simple question. Why do you refuse to answer it?

So why follow it up with this?
