By Chris A. on 6th January 2011

Just been on the "whats bad about Hazel Grove " & all I can say is that if you don't like it, please feel free to go and live somewhere else, you were probably not a Grover in the first place therefore you have no right to complain!

Review for Hazel Grove
By The J. on 14th June 2006

Hazel Grove is a large suburban area of Stockport, South East Manchester with a considerable amount of industry. The town initially developed as a stop point on the A6 route from London to Carlisle for travellers to stay over in one of the many inns. Today, these inns have become the many pubs for which Hazel Grove is now most famous for. The Grove as it is affectionately known has grown up around this main thoroughfare and most of the shops and businesses can be found al...

Review for Hazel Grove
By oliver1971 on 27th April 2011

I went for a jog early on Saturday morning and imagine my suprise as I was approaching middlewood station I encountered a gentleman wearing nothing but a hat, rucksack, boots and a smile. It was quite a suprise, not got anything against this sort of thing however I am very aware that there are families walking and riding bikes on this trail and I dont think it very appropriate.

Review for Hazel Grove
By Blue G. on 13th October 2010

"Finally can I say that I am sorry more of you could not make the Meeting last Wednesday at the Civic Hall you would have been able to hear the comments from other Hazel Grove residents who believe that the measures taken by the Council have been useful in reducing the traffic speed to the benefit of all." Cllr Corris I was at this meeting, post the minutes please, I don't remember these positive comments about the scheme

Review for Hazel Grove
By C Colclough on 5th March 2010

Chester Road in Hazel Grove is a pleasant suburb which suffers from speeding motorists. The Councilís response is to turn the road into an unwelcome urban obstacle course strewn with frustrating speed tables, redundant pedestrian islands and fragmented cycle lanes. The majority of Chester Road residents do not support these heavy handed proposals. The Council Public Consultation in September 2009 revealed that twice the number of Chester Road residents were against th...

Review for Hazel Grove
By Lynda Johnson on 4th March 2009

I left Hazel Gove in 1977 when I married. I then left England and emingrated to Australia. I have fond memories of Hazel Grove, but I would be probably be horrified at the changes that have occurred. I know that things change, but reading the comments, it seems to have changed for the worse. Still love England, and always will.

Review for Stockport
By Stopfordian77 on 10th September 2006

I feel like Stockport is a place on the up, there is always a good new development going on. The area opposite the peel centre has all just been redeveloped last year and now there is a new Tesco and plans for the Asda area to be rebuilt. It does have a slight reputation for badly behaved youths but I'm sure its no worse than in any other major town in the country and yes there is still some to do on improving areas like grand central (squares and H+H) but I see a lot of...

Review for Hazel Grove
By Christine Corris on 5th July 2010

May I set the record straight with regard to the Traffic Management scheme on Chester Road. The origins of this go back over four years when the Council was contacted by local residents in the area wanting something done to reduce the speed of traffic along Chester Road. Two years ago The Council Officers came up with a definitive scheme and the first of two public consultations was launched. There followed three public meetings attended by over 200 people. Following c...
